Sodomites New Beach Head: Jerusalem

According to a NY Times article today, homosexuals are organizing a parade in Jerusalem this coming August.

Of course, the article details how religions (Muslim, Catholic, and Orthodox Jewish) are organizing together to stem the tide, in order to “win” this “culture war.”

Events such as this allow us to peer into the Scriptures to see where all of this is heading, and then thank God that we have more understanding than those who teach us, because we pay attention to what He says in them.

In this particular matter, we know where Jerusalem is headed, and it’s certainly NOT toward godliness! In fact, Jerusalem is yet to become the global epicenter of the future of the homosexual movement. And I advisedly say future of the homosexual movement, because its decadence has not reached its end until it devolves into more unspeakable lustful flames.

The prophecy of Revelation concerning Jerusalem being spiritually named Sodom adjoins neatly to the Lord’s prophecy during His days when he said the day of His coming will find the world as it was in the days of Lot . It likewise dovetails with what we read in Jude , which characterizes the days of the apostasy from the faith at the end of this age.

Significantly, the pursuit of flesh of another kind is what marks the end of this age. The Scriptures note there are four kinds of flesh: man, animals, fish, and birds . Could this different kind of flesh be the heavenly bodies (habitation={oiketerion|2Cor 5:) of angels, who once again irrupting into the race of men, as in the days of Noah ?

In my considered opinion, we Christians today will not be here to see these prophetic events come to full fruition while here on earth, because they will climax at the visitation of God’s wrath in the final half of Daniel’s final prophetic seven years . Our final view will be from heaven. But we can clearly see, through the Scriptures, the tendencies and direction of these things. And it is this understanding, in part, which makes us credible with those outside the household of faith.

On the other hand, the earthly attempts to assail these ungodly forces in a “culture war” is doomed to failure. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood , nor do we war according to flesh and blood. Our warfare is against wicked spirits in heavenly places, and only Christians are outfitted to conduct THAT war.

The Jerusalem that is now will not undergo a cultural transformation for the better, but will be ultimately surpassed by that Jerusalem from above - the heavenly one - which will consummately come down from heaven and be the dwelling place of all God’s holy ones.

We need to identify with Abraham, rather than with Lot. Abraham looked for that city that has true substance and foundations, whose builder and architect is God. Lot, first pitched his tent toward Sodom, then built his house in Sodom, then established his citizenship in Sodom, became a councilman , and finally was tormented by the wicked behavior of the Sodomites.
